Three Dinners (Sunday Dinner Report #8)

Have been remiss in writing about this;
I have had three "Sunday" Dinners since my last report, maybe if I number them?

Sunday, September 6th (Labor day weekend)

First United Methodist Church (FUMC) (It's complicated for me writing this one)

Sloppy Joes. Yummy.  Nice, piquant flavor to them.

Only about 65 served, very low turnout.

I still have some leftover cole slaw from this one in my Refrigerator (oops) (I ate it twice, then forgot about it).

Sunday September 13th (Oakley Chapel?)

"Pulled Chicken"

Can't remember the vegetable.

Very Short Staff, (Six or so, all "older" women),

I was only offered "half a piece of cake" when the menu (and other guests) were offered Cobbler, cake or Ice Cream.  My feelings were hurt. (Not much really, just a teaching point for volunteers).
Sure was NOT going to offer to seep the floor, etc. like I had the week before.

Sunday September 20th (Central Methodist)

Sloppy Joe, Green Salad and the (inevitable) (canned) Green Beans.

I had a very enjoyable exchange with the one volunteer actually doing service (Only three others in the Kitchen), about the need and dynamics of the activity.  More on that at a later date.

Chile (Frito) Pie and Frisco Festival. (Dinner #7)

Another Winner at the Sunday Community Meal, Chili Pie

Made with the Grand Prize winner from the Frisco Festival
(A planned menu).

The food of my childhood indeed, with plenty of Cheese and Sour Cream offered on the side.

For some reason there were a bunch of Teens there at the Community Dinner; No one had ever seen any of them before, we will see if any of them come back.
